I’m Gregory Eccles, a licensed counselling psychologist based in Johannesburg - here to guide you through life’s most complex and difficult matters. My practice is in Edenvale, Johannesburg, and high accessible to the east and central parts of Johannesburg.

I completed a master of arts degree in community-based counselling psychology, providing me with extensive knowledge in the fields of psychotherapy, psychological assessment, and community psychology, amongst others. I completed my degree at the University of the Witwatersrand - one of the top universities on the continent.

I continued my training during my internship year at the Centre for Psychological Services and Career Development at the University of Johannesburg, where I was fortunate to work amongst psychologists from a wide variety of training backgrounds, and learnt much from their experience.

The result of an my intensive years of training is that I am now well equipped to work with any situation within my scope of practice. While many psychologists have chosen to specialise in specific types of therapeutic work, my chosen speciality has emerged as "psychotherapy" as a whole.

Before registering as a counselling psychologist, I spent some years working in Japan and Korea. I gained valuable life experience in the forms of both meeting people from around the world, and working in schools amongst people from vastly different cultural backgrounds to my own. One of the net results of this process was an intense curiosity for the variations in individuality, from cultural and religious backgrounds to moral inclinations and future aspirations. Practising in psychology affords me the opportunity to continue that exploration, while offering the privilege of being of help to people in achieving their imagined futures.
